Baby Boy!

Amrit Singh RaiA huge congratulations to Mick and Dee on the birth of a beautiful baby boy on the 2nd March, which for those of you have forgotten was Mothering Sunday, which makes him that little bit more special.  I tried to calculate the probability of having a baby born on Mothering Sunday and got as far there is one in seven chance of it being born on a Sunday and one in twelve of it being born in March..  Pally you are always quick of the mark with these ones… help me out.

Amrit Singh Rai was born at 00:25 hours and weighed a super 8lb 2oz.  Both mother and baby are doing great and we hope to see more pictures of the happy family soon.  Ladoo have already been passed around in Manawali, India to celebrate and I do believe the Rai’s has a Triple S (Super Saturday Session) this week.  Let us know how that went, sorry we weren’t there.

Well done guys, enjoy the late nights and dirty nappies that your little bundle of joy will be giving you.  Will this little guy be a doctor, lawyer or engineer?

Wedding Ring Finger, Why?

There is a beautiful and convincing explanation given by the Chinese…..

wedding ringThumb represents your Parents
Second (Index) finger represents your Siblings
Middle finger represents your-Self
Fourth (Ring) finger represents your Life Partner
& the Last (Little) finger represents your children

Firstly, open your palms (face to face), bend the middle fingers and hold them together – back to back
Secondly, open and hold the remaining three fingers and the thumb – tip to tip
(As shown in the figure above)

You Are Here

Hi People, I thought I’d share our neighbourhood with you. If you click on the “view larger map” you can move around Melbourne and zoom in and out.

See how close the sporting grounds are to us. Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG)
Rod Laver Arena (Melbourne Open, Tennis and many Concerts) and Olympic Park.

Further down you’ll see Albert Park Lake this is where the Formula 1 takes place.

Telstra Dome is to to the left of the city at the Docklands, this is where the big AFL games take place.  Don’t know much about AFL its a bit crap compared to football (soccer) and the ref blows his whistle every 20 seconds.

The beaches are about 20 minutes away by tram, great place to enjoy a nice cold macadamia ice cream.

KFC Twenty 20 Ind Vs Aus

It’s Friday 1st February 2008 and we are all exited to see the twenty 20 cricket match between India and Australia.  It’s mine and Dals first cricket match, and as cricket is so boring we thought the 20/20 would be a good introduction to the sport.

Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) is an awesome venue and the game was sponsored by KFC.  The KFC aroma surrounded the ground and it felt like we were sitting inside a family bucket.  Not much fun if your a vegetarian but it was about as fun as the game got.  The seating was mixed, so Ozzies and Indians weren’t segregated like they are for football matches.  I think it would have been more of a buzz if all the Indian supporters sat together.

DSlite and R4 Chip

DSliteThe R4 looks like a simple piece of plastic. It is just a couple of centimeters square, a few millimeters thick and unbelievably easy to use. For Nintendo it is the Christmas stocking filler from hell.  In the hands of the 35 million DS users around the world the R4 chip has the potential to deal a heavy financial blow to Nintendo and to the dozens of software developers that make games for the machine

Nintendo is Japan’s third most valuable listed company with a stock market value of more than $85 billion (£41 billion) and revenues of $7.8 billion in 2006. The R4′s function is simple: it is a direct conduit for illegal game downloads and other unofficial software. Built to fit into the DS’s existing game cartridge slot, the R4 will transfer on to the console anything saved on a removable flash memory chip.

Most DS games appear on the internet and are ready for downloading within a few days of the legitimate version going on sale. Video’s on youtube.com offer first-time users of the R4 an easy-to-follow tutorial in making the device work. Salesmen even quietly suggest visiting youtube.com rather than attempting to decipher its Chinese instructions.  Just search for R4 tutorial.  Learn more about the R4 Chip

Happy New Year 2008

Happy 2008 to everyone

Well this will be our final New Year in the UK for a while. We’ve had loads of fun while we have been here and hope to make it up to you all when you come to visit us.

Thanks to Beena (the hostess with the mostest) for the Stevenage party, it was a blast for those of us that made the effort. Unfortunately Johnson kept being dealt the lowest card and continued to neck shots all night, he was out for the count before we knew it. Camera lady, Dee, got plenty of pics and video footage which we will be adding to the website soon.  Glad Mandy made it and really let her hair down.  There was so much alcohol that there was enough for a baaraat and Mukhtar was having two cans at a time!  Good to see you all again.
