Coming Soon - Dec 08

screenAs you all know we are in the process of building a house out here in Oz.  One of the rooms will be a dedicated home cinema room, something we aren’t quite used to back home yet.  The audio and Visual kit is not quite finalised but one thing is for sure the cinema room will boast a 105″ screen

We have been thinking about the first few films that will “showing”.  First films for sure will be the Alien Trilogy and Terminator 2 somthing that will test the 12″ sub woofer.

The Xbox360 will be talking up most of the airtime.  Dal will be jamming on Guitar Hero whilst i’ll be at my witts end playing Bioshock and Forza.

Bollywood movies? yeah we’ll have to put a few of these on.  Sholay a must and Devdas just to see the beautiful sets that were so colourful and detailed.

Melbourne Grand Prix

Hamilton wins grand prix

Its Sunday morning and Dal and I are a bit worse for wear.  Well what do you expect? We went on a bender the night before. The occasion? Was there one? We just need an excuse these days. Oh yeah… we went to Kate’s birthday bash, her Hen night and Gerald’s Stag. These two love birds are getting hitched sometime soon. However the guest of honour was James, Gerald’s best friend from London. Many jokes were told, piss was taken out of others and pints went down smooth in the 35°C heat. Plenty of fun was to be had and it felt like we were home with our British/English friends and mostly the “British sense of humour” was on form.  Sitting in the Riverland pub on the edge of the Yaara River :)

Grand Prix morning, Dal and I met up with G and James, at the Transport pub at Federation Square… but where else. It’s about two in the afternoon and the sun is steaming and baking us in 41°C - this is one of those times you wish you brought a spare pair of undies. The crack of my ass was steaming.

Ford Stereo Radio Code

RDS6000Hi everyone.

If your looking for the activation code for your ford stereo then you’ve come to the right place.  You will need the code for your stereo if  you are reinstalling it or you had a flat battery.  Ford service centre are more than happy to help, oh! and they will charge you for your code.

I wasn’t about to do that, so I searched the net but to no avail.  Finally I came across a little program that calculates your stereo code once you have popped in your radio serial number.  This program worked for me, I hope it works for you guys too.

Firstly I only have the software for A, L, C and M series stereos and I have only used the M series software .  If you have any problems or you can’t get this software to work sorry I won’t be able to help you.  I found this through a torrant site, downloading and install at your own risk.

KFC Twenty 20 Ind Vs Aus

It’s Friday 1st February 2008 and we are all exited to see the twenty 20 cricket match between India and Australia.  It’s mine and Dals first cricket match, and as cricket is so boring we thought the 20/20 would be a good introduction to the sport.

Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) is an awesome venue and the game was  sponsored by KFC.  The KFC aroma surrounded the ground and it felt like we were sitting inside a family bucket.  Not much fun if your a vegetarian but it was about as fun as the game got.  The seating was mixed, so Ozzies and Indians weren’t segregated like they are for football matches.  I think it would have been more of a buzz if all the Indian supporters sat together.

DSlite and R4 Chip

DSliteThe R4 looks like a simple piece of plastic. It is just a couple of centimeters square, a few millimeters thick and unbelievably easy to use. For Nintendo it is the Christmas stocking filler from hell.  In the hands of the 35 million DS users around the world the R4 chip has the potential to deal a heavy financial blow to Nintendo and to the dozens of software developers that make games for the machine

Nintendo is Japan’s third most valuable listed company with a stock market value of more than $85 billion (£41 billion) and revenues of $7.8 billion in 2006. The R4’s function is simple: it is a direct conduit for illegal game downloads and other unofficial software. Built to fit into the DS’s existing game cartridge slot, the R4 will transfer on to the console anything saved on a removable flash memory chip.

Most DS games appear on the internet and are ready for downloading within a few days of the legitimate version going on sale. Video’s on youtube.com offer first-time users of the R4 an easy-to-follow tutorial in making the device work. Salesmen even quietly suggest visiting youtube.com rather than attempting to decipher its Chinese instructions.  Just search for R4 tutorial.  Learn more about the R4 Chip

The Grampians

GrampiansWhen we were asked to go camping with friends we immediately thought cold damp weather and knee deep in a boggy field not forgetting the food poisoning.  Err reality check, we’re talking camping in Australia not England :)

The expedition team consisted of Asar, Sofia, Bobby, Rum and Dal.  Asar’s profession is in Risk Management so he made the ideal tour guide he certainly earned his 5 stars.  Asar and Sofia being the expert campers took a hold of the reigns and got the tents up, then down, turned around and I’m sure at one point inside out.  After an hour three tents had been erected, their personal best.  Well done.  I would have helped them but I was hammered the night before from the works Christmas party, but that’s another story for another time.

We stayed at the Lake Fyans Holiday Park which is within The Grampians National Park.  It was about 250K from Melbourne CBD, around 3 hours drive according to Google Maps, it took us 2.5 hours.  Lake Fyans is a 4 star camping park with many facilities, I would definitely recommend this Park.  Asar however was eyeing up a 5 star camping park not sure why, maybe you get your own butler?
