Around the Bay

It’s been a while since I completed my 40Km bike ride around Melbourne City so i’ve decided to team up with a few guys from work and attempt a 100Km ride.

I haven’t really been back on the bike due to the weather and lack of motivation but this will do the trick.  I have until the 18th October to get into shape and learn to ride on the busy roads.  It will be a beautiful and scenic ride as the full 100Km will be along side the Bay, lets hope the weather is good and not windy.  If anyone has any helpful tips please pass them on.

Feel free to check out the route I think i will get some road tyres for my bike just to get less friction on the road.  “Every little helps”  You’ll see that i’m not acutually doing the full ride, 250Km is more than what i can endure; maybe next year for that.

This is a yearly event to raise money this year we will be raising money for the Smith Family who help disadvantaged Aussie kids.  Feel free to sponsor me

Great, this is a good way to get fit and keep you motivated to ride at the same time and raise money for a good cause! I am jogging on a regular basis now and on Thursday I am taking part in the race for life run at West Park and raising money for cancer research, the run takes place at 7.30pm on Thursday 18 June 09, lets hope it does not rain!!!!

Good luck Ranbir! Hope it doesn’t rain, but I’m sure you won’t let a little rain get in the way. Let us know how it goes :)

Hi just got back from doing the race for life, it felt fab I ran all the way without stopping, when you go past the finish line you get such a buzz and a great sense of acheivement, and physically you feel fit and healthy, a big thank you to Bally and Amrun for supporting me and cheering me on!! I raised £120.00 altogether for cancer research. It rained when we were doing the warm up exercises, but when the race started the sun came out. Had a fab evening. I have now set my sights on the half marathon and will give it a go, if anyone wants to join me let me know!! Hope you guys are feeling better love Ranbir xxx

Well the big ride is coming up (18th October) and I haven’t prepared for it. I’ve been out a couple of times and I will manage to do about 50km but 100km I don’t think so but I shall give it my best shot.

This Saturday i’m going to attempt to ride to the city from Craigieburn that will be a total of 50km.

Today was the day. I downgraded my ride to 50Km simply due to lack of preparation. It was a beautiful day the sun was out and very there was very little wind resistance. Completed the 50Km just under 3 hours. Thanks to everyone who sponsored me.

    Chief,

50 kms is a great attempt. Well done.

I guess you did not have as good a company as in the 40 kms ride to complete the 100kms!!
