Rum & Dal

It’s Friday 1st February 2008 and we are all exited to see the twenty 20 cricket match between India and Australia.  It’s mine and Dals first cricket match, and as cricket is so boring we thought the 20/20 would be a good introduction to the sport.

Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) is an awesome venue and the game was sponsored by KFC.  The KFC aroma surrounded the ground and it felt like we were sitting inside a family bucket.  Not much fun if your a vegetarian but it was about as fun as the game got.  The seating was mixed, so Ozzies and Indians weren’t segregated like they are for football matches.  I think it would have been more of a buzz if all the Indian supporters sat together.

Well India played like amateurs, any one would think there was some match fixing going on for them to lose so badly.  I mean two professional cricketers running to catch the same ball, bumping into each other and missing the opportunity to catch out one of the opposition!  The stadium was laughing at them and it didn’t help that one of them was Harbhajan Singh.  He had his fair share of taunting throughout the game. To say the least I’m not to enthusiastic about writing this blog.  Cricket is a sport for people who have lots of time to waste.  Doubt very much that we will be returning to the MCG for another cricket match.
