Happy Birthday Dal
A huge thank you to all of you who sent me your wishes on my 31st birthday. I had a lovely weekend, was a little hung over from the nights before but “that’s nothing new†I hear you all say! The weather has really picked up in Melbourne so we went to the beach for the first time. Clear water, beautiful sunshine, only a handful of people around and no donkeys on the beach. No fish and chips either, haven’t found anywhere that does good British style fish n’chips!Â
Went shopping to Chadstone which is apparently the largest shopping centre in the southern hemisphere… hmmmm not much bigger than Merry Hill if you ask me. Its the closest thing we’ve seen to a good shopping centre here in Oz, even though the prices are still sky high, I managed to find some shoes for work.
Went out to the Lion Pub (very British!) and sat and drank cocktails and watched others drinking some crazy stuff… tried some Sambuca but it didn’t quite knock us out as we had expected. Great 80’s music all night.
Thanks to Sofia and Rashmi (Accenture colleagues) for the lovely present which will go towards the accessories in the house. It was a lovely thought girls and most unexpected. Thanks also to Veenu and Jade for their gifts too, also to be opened and set up in the house… hurry up house!
Thanks to Bal, Ranbir and Amrun for being there on MSN when the cake slices were cut. On the picture above you can just about make them out in the laptop window. Rum went through all the trouble of making my candles out of a cocktail straw and tissue… only to realise we didn’t even have any matches and the cooker is electric! The pyromaniac that he is… there was no fire this time.
Thanks for the birthday cards, they are coming through now that the weekend is over. Missing all of you back in the UK…

Hope you are both well. We have had a very busy weekend - had gops wedding so off work today to recover. We have another two weddings to attend over the coming weeks….loads bad food….yum. Surj came along to the pre wedding party and he was mad for dancing,…Satinder and Claire just about took the little monkey home…he wouldnt go and was still dancing outside the hall….like father like son hey!!

Just to say we are back on-line yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!! Glad to you had a fab birthday Dal, those cakes are so mouthwatering!! We also went to Barmouth beach and missed you guys being there with us. Mum made our parotas, they were yum!!! The kids had a great time. Did you make parotas when you went to the beach?? No Indians can go to the beach without packing parotas. Just seen Amrun’s report on the blog, looks good!! Speak to you soon now we are back on!!
