Well we made it… and the flight was no where near as bad as the goodbyes. A huge thank you to all of you for all your kind words and best wishes. For all the cards (even the hidden ones), the presents and the sentiments… we were touched to say the least. Thank you to Amy, Pav and Amrun for the gifts they made, we have bought them with us and will put them up when we have our own place. Thanks also to Ranbir for baking us the goodbye cake, shame we couldn’t bring that with us. We were still reading heart warming text messages from you all as we boarded the plane… I knew it would be a tearful goodbye but i never imagined it would hurt so much…
So we are at the hotel now, the weather isn’t too bad. It looks freezing but its mild. We are expecting some thunder today but having spoken to the receptionist, it hasn’t thundered heavily here for a while. The apartment is nice and small. We have a little kitchen so are making our own foods, save on eating out… we are unemployed and homeless now!!! :)
We’ve been out every day. Bank accounts have been activated and we have two viewings for rented property tomorrow… lets see how that goes. There are loads of Orientals here, even the hotel is owned by one. TV is full of sports mainly, they can’t get enough of it over here. You wouldn’t believe that the first night we go here Crocodile Dundee was on TV - Rum didn’t do much after he saw that!
So far we have found that it is expensive here possibly due to that fact that we are in a big city. Really need to get rented accommodation sorted out so that we can get jobs and then look for permanent accommodation. Its happening but very slowly…
Thanks for all the posts on the site so far… we have managed to move to a room where we have Wifi access so can check them more frequently and keep you updated on what we are up to.
